Lessons from a Digital Marketing Virtual Assistant who actually does the work:
It’s that time of year when we all have New Year’s resolutions … plans to be better … change … and improve ourselves. And this is the year that I want you to focus on ACTION.
I have never been big into goal setting. But last year I did set a goal for my business… and holy cow, it worked! If you want to read my numbers story, I posted all about it on my facebook page. I talk about telling a random stranger my goal, how I picked that number and how I almost broke up a marriage. (JK) But this isn’t about me. I want to share what I’ve learned and witnessed.
I know the basic theory about goal setting and I believe it.
If you write them down, you are 2-3 times more likely to achieve your goals.
But the writing or announcing part is not what makes goals and dreams happen.
It’s 100% the action you take.
It’s taking the small steps over time that lead to achievement.
Let me say again: it’s all about your A C T I O N.
I have had a variety of students go through my crash course (and plenty of other courses)… they all start motivated to learn and transform their lives.
Not everyone takes action.
- Action is signing up for a course to learn and fill in your gaps of knowledge.
- Action is logging into the course and watching the modules.
- Action is watching the next module and the next so that they click.
- Action is showing up to the lives.
- Action is completing the homework.
- Action is taking everything you’ve learned and choosing a path for you.
- Action is joining the relevant FB groups.
- Action is updating your resume.
- Action is speaking up.
- Action is applying for the job.
All of those little steps of action turn into you getting hired… getting extra income… getting invaluable experience … changing your path.
You don’t need to declare your word of the year. You don’t have to broadcast your goals to the world.
All you need to do is take action.

The Takeaway: Make 2020 the year that you take ACTION
Choose to accomplish one small thing to propel you forward.
If you want to be healthier in 2020, go on a walk today. Add veggies into your meal.
If you want to be a better friend/partner in 2020, schedule a date night or pick up the phone.
If you want to get organized in 2020, clean out 1 drawer.
If you want to write that book in 2020, write a little bit today.
If you want to get hired as a digital media VA, sign up right now for my free training series. I’m going to give you action every day for 2 weeks. It’ll be a great start for your new online career, or a next step that will make you hireable by new clients.
